Surgical Orthodontics

A coordinated orthodontic and surgical treatment designed to correct complex jaw and bite irregularities.

Surgical orthodontics is recommended for patients with significant jaw discrepancies that cannot be corrected through orthodontic treatment alone. It combines carefully planned orthodontic care with corrective jaw surgery to improve the relationship between the teeth, jaws, and facial structure.

Treatment is coordinated between the orthodontist and maxillofacial surgeon. Braces or aligners are usually used before surgery to prepare the teeth, followed by the surgical procedure and a final orthodontic phase to refine the bite. The goal is to achieve better function, improved facial balance, and a stable long-term result.
